ThirdStep.org, a Christian Third Step ministry, is for all those who have been in Bondage to an Addiction, and are now trying to recover. Addictions such as alcoholism, drug addiction and scores of others. This ministry is for all those who are seeking the solution to their seemingly hopeless condition, and understand that they do not have the power to solve their own problem, or else own would have. This  ministry is for all those who know they are done, who want to find a solution, but are left in that place, as so many of us have experienced. We were stuck in that place, That place, that only we understand. We stopped using or drinking. We gave up our crutch, our friend, the obsession that was killing us. With that went the only thing we knew of that kept us from the pain or feelings we had been hiding or numbed for so many years..

    We were all of a sudden thrust into facing so many years of abuse and hurting ourselves. We could look back at years of emotions, feelings, and now a world unknown. We were thus confused, hurting, and trapped. Many of us were at a turning point, a place of helplessness. Separated from our best friend, our strength, with a huge empty hole.. We were definitely ready to turn our life around. Many of us being stuck, with no choices left surrendered, and had to seek the truth about God. We had finally gotten to that place where we knew that He was God and that we weren’t. We were ready to make a decision. A decision about a god we had never understood. But we had to make a decision. Could He be the answer to our dilemma? Could the Christian Third Step be the solution? Are we willing to seek for the truth and make a decision?

  The entire 12 step program that is so widely used in recovery is rooted in the Holy Bible. Its precepts, teachings, and absolutely its healings are mostly Christian. It is said, that of the original 110, or so members of that program, all but 3 or 4 were Christian. We beg apologies if it was 5 or 6. One was an agnostic, that was Bill W, one atheist and a couple that weren’t sure. There were, however, many Baptist’s, some Congregationalist’s, and probably, some Lutheran’s and Catholic’s for good measure.

    For reasons, including their denominational differences, they compromised, on a neutral Third Step. They decided to make it neutral so there wouldn’t be any religious barriers that would prevent anyone from coming into their little groups. It was written so there would be no denominational arguments. Their purpose was to help anyone who had the desire to get Sober. They then could make their own decisions about God and a desired church, as the tradition remains today. However, it was still written in such a way, that the Christian roots were very evident. The Third Step of most recovery programs states:

**“Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God, as we  understood him.***

   The entire Christian, Holy Bible tradition, is in the italics. To the care of God, as we (the original founders) understood him .

   The Christian roots, carrying such truth, is the foundation of the Christian Third Step  ministry. We come to believe, that the God of our founders, many of our brothers and sisters in recovery, and possibly our childhood, is the only true God. That through Him we can live in true freedom. Yes, regenerating and soberly renewing our physical, mental, and spiritual selves. The proof is all around us. The evidence is clear. We can become a whole person again. But without willingness and acceptance of certain truths, we will remain stuck. Stuck in our Bondage and stuck in selfishness.

***“If you want what we have, these are the steps we took. They said!”***

   We started in the Third Step by simply …Making a Decision. We made a decision to trust God.  We were finally willing to accept the fact that we weren’t God. We accepted the fact that He Is, and that because of Him there was hope in finding a real solution. A real solution based on the truth according to our creator. The truth that only because of what Jesus Christ had done for us could we come to our Father in Heaven.
  
  The purpose of this ministry is to help you to make a decision to find and invite Christ into your life. Probably the most heartfelt decision most people will ever make. You most likely did not come to this web page by accident. In fact, if we sincerely look back on our past, many of us have been seeking the truth contained here most of our life.

   The first three steps brought us to the truth, the God of the Holy Bible. He is the one true God who will be true to you as he has been for us. You see, the God of the Holy Bible, the God of Abraham, he does not change. He cannot lie. For he, Is God! He is the one constant we can depend on. He is the creator.
  
  If your Bondage, Alcoholism, or addiction, has taken you to a place where you know you do not want to ever return, then don’t. Give it up, submit and seek. Be honest with yourself! As so many before you, you can do this! You see, you don’t have to hurt yourself or those you love today. If your way just hasn’t worked, there is a tested and proven solution. Millions of us have found it in our search for relief and peace. If you are ready to humble yourself and face the truth, you’ll see that what you’ve been missing, for those so many years, is within your reach-RIGHT NOW!

***Matt.11:28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.***

   If you are seeking peace and your freedom, in the Light of the ThirdStep, you are home. Jesus Christ is your answer. He is Yeshua! He alone is the healer, the great comforter, our Savior and the most powerful name in the universe. He understands our pain, our past, and our Bondage. He once lived among us as the Son of Man. (Luke 22:69)   As the Son of God, he alone can provide the Grace and Forgiveness we so desperately need. The Grace, so we can be Forgiven. The Forgiveness, so we can walk in victory and freedom with the Lord!

    It is now, right at your fingertips. It doesn’t matter if it’s recovery from alcoholism, drug addiction, or from one of the many other Bondages that are out there. It is still the same problem. Most of us get stuck in self, we overindulge, and get separated from our creator. That is where we stay until we are willing to surrender to the addiction and ask for change. Change of thinking, change of our habits, and change in our entire spiritual relationship with God. If you have never asked the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart as an adult, Sober, you are invited to right now. Unless you’re too busy, of course. Unfortunately, there are so many of us that are. ***Yes, we are sinners, you’re a sinner, everyone’s a sinner.***
   
  Which means that on a regular basis, all of us act and/or think outside of God’s perfect will for us. It is the natural nature of man. All of us are the same that way and there are no exceptions, just some a little more obvious than others. God is available to all, especially you, right now. Repent and be saved.
  
  Meditate on the Christian Third Step prayer. Ask your Father in Heaven to explain it to you. Add some of your own words if you like. If you haven’t already, go to a quiet place, alone, so you are not showing off for anyone. Humble yourself by kneeling. Fold your hands and bow you head. Then tell your Father in heaven, your new found daddy, ABBA, that you are sorry. Repent. Ask the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart. ASK HIM TO FORGIVE YOU. Feel his forgiveness. Accept his forgiveness. Be totally honest. Beg him to help you change. Change your thinking and change your actions. Give it all to Him. Thank Him from the bottom of your heart.
  
  It is only by His Grace that this has been given to you, absolutely free! If you are sincere, you will receive the Holy Spirit, which will abide in you, comforting, and guiding you for the rest of your days. Congratulations, if you were sincere, you have just completed the best Third Step a man or woman could ever do. You have just set the foundation for a life long walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. Through the Christian Third Step your eternal destiny has been assured. A Foundation of Rock is being set upon which you can build your life. The result of that simple decision is that we become a New Creation in Christ! Free at last!

   Faith in Jesus is all that we needed to start our journey..

He gave us his promises in the book of Galatians, chapter 5. They read:

vs. 22-23  But the fruit of the Spirit (the result of being reborn) is love, joy, peace, longsuffering (patience), kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, ~~~~the  Promises of God our Father in Heaven to you.

***Faith in Jesus Christ is all we needed to start this beautiful transformation.***

YOU ARE NOW —BORN AGAIN—AS A NEW CREATION IN CHRIST! 
JESUS CHRIST, OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR!

Your eternal destiny, your salvation, is now assured. Your spiritual walk with our Father God, will allow you to become free of the world, and live in victory over it. SO,

Gal. 5:1 STAND FAST THEREFORE IN THE LIBERTY BY WHICH CHRIST HAS MADE US FREE, DO NOT BE ENTANGLED AGAIN WITH A YOKE OF BONDAGE.

The one that proclaims Jesus Christ as Lord and your only true answer. It is a wonderful way to start your day, every day. It is also the prayer that becomes our best way to start any day over, when everything just doesn’t seem to be working right.
 
   You may feel some changes coming over you in the coming days or weeks. In order for you to better understand your new self and as a guide for your new relationship with the Lord, we have provided a learning experience area in the forums. Simply check-in at the top of the Christian Third Step, ThirdStep.org home page and go to the forums. Proceed to “New Believers” in the forums. By checking in, you gain full access to ThirdStep.org. There is a lot here to meditate on. Have some fun in any of the forums. As we grow, so will they, and you can be a part of it. Soon we will be having an area on the ministry site where you will need your sponsors’ or Pastors  permission to enter. Think of it as “Liberty and Freedom in Christ 404”! We “Made a Decision” and God takes the limits off our life. The Bondage is removed and a whole new world is revealed.

   It is our mission to bring the eternal, healing message of Jesus Christ to as many of those in Bondage as the internet will allow. We pray that this message can be put in front of all those in need. Everyone deserves to be given the opportunity to know the Living, Healing Gospel of Jesus Christ.
